About this deck

Heroes, spells, monsters and loot for your first adventure.

The Adventurer’s Deck is a 99-flashcard vocabulary quest through the language of role-playing games, told as a nine-chapter pulp magazine: the party, their gear, magic, loot, stats, places, monsters, actions, and provisions for the road.

Every flashcard is a magazine cover. On the front, a commissioned ink illustration. On the back, the word in Japanese with its kana reading, an example sentence with kana reading and English translation, a dictionary definition, and audio for both the word and the sentence in alternating male and female voices.

For learners who know kana and their first kanji. Every word here is real, common RPG vocabulary you’ll meet in games, fantasy novels and shows.
