Spaced repetition

A spaced repetition app for words.

Misu brings each flashcard back right before you’d forget it, on a schedule that FSRS plans and fits to your memory every month. Start with the most common words in ten languages, or turn any word you meet into a flashcard in one tap.

What it does

You forget a new word a little more every day until you meet it again, and each time you do, it lasts longer. A spaced repetition app keeps track of that for every flashcard, so you don’t have to: each day it shows you the flashcards that are due, and nothing else.

How Misu works

A daily review takes a few minutes. Set a reminder for the time that suits you, and review on the train without a connection: Misu works offline and syncs across your devices.

Words to review

Scheduled by FSRS

Misu plans every review with FSRS-6, the sixth version of the open-source scheduler. It keeps a model of how well you know each flashcard and brings it back when your chance of remembering falls to 90%. Once a month, Misu fits FSRS to your own reviews, so the schedule follows how your memory works. How FSRS works, step by step.

Quick answers

What is a spaced repetition app?

A flashcard app that decides when each flashcard comes back. It shows you only the flashcards that are due, each right before you’d forget it, so a few minutes of review a day keeps everything you’ve learned.

What is the best spaced repetition app for vocabulary?

One with a modern scheduler like FSRS, audio on every flashcard, ready-made decks for your language and a quick way to add the words you meet. That’s what Misu is built around.

The best flashcard apps, compared

Does spaced repetition work?

Yes. A review at the right moment makes a word last longer before you need it again, so each word needs fewer and fewer reviews, and a few minutes a day keeps a large vocabulary.

Does Misu work offline?

Yes. You can review without a connection, and your flashcards sync across your devices.

Which languages does Misu have?

Ready-made courses in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, and your own flashcards in any language, made for you in one tap in 76 of them, each with a natural voice.
