About this deck

Heroes, spells, monsters and loot for your first adventure.

The Adventurer’s Deck is a 99-flashcard vocabulary quest through the language of role-playing games, told as a nine-chapter pulp magazine: the party, their gear, magic, loot, stats, places, monsters, actions, and provisions for the road.

Every flashcard is a magazine cover. On the front, a commissioned ink illustration. On the back, the word with its article and IPA pronunciation, an example sentence with an English translation, a dictionary definition, and audio for both the word and the sentence in alternating male and female voices.

Every noun carries its article, so you learn o and a with the word rather than after it. Every word here is real, common RPG vocabulary you’ll meet in games, fantasy novels and shows. Spelling, pronunciation and voices are Brazilian Portuguese.
