What you’ll learn
Every letter, with a word you’ll use.
Hiragana is the first script you need for Japanese: Japanese Foundations writes the reading of every word in it. This deck teaches the 46 basic hiragana one flashcard at a time, then the two dots and the small circle that change their sounds, the small ゃ, ゅ, ょ and っ, long vowels, and the three letters that change sound when they work as particles.
Each flashcard shows a letter on the front. Turn it over for its sound, with audio, a tip for telling it apart and a word you will meet in the course, with its picture.
About four days at 15 new flashcards a day. Take Katakana next, then start Japanese Foundations.
